This bachelor thesis talks about the measurement of heart electrical activity by twelve lead ECG. The diagnostic system Biopac is used for measurement, featured by the computer program Acqknowledge. The own authentic method is designed to detect effect of load on increasing in blood pressure and heartbeat. Using a statistical procedure for testing hypotheses in this area the measurement results will be evaluated. For the analysis of measured data in time and frequency domain was used program Matlab, in which the measured results were imported. It was created functions that are implemented in an medium of Guide to the graphic design program.

The diploma thesis describes the bootstrap method and its applications in the confidence intervals generation, in the testing of statistical hypotheses and in the regression analysis. We present the confidence interval for individual value. Further the method of discrete probability estimation of the categorical quantity is presented, making use the gradient and the line estimate.

The diploma thesis describes the bootstrap method and its applications in the estimate accuracy statement, in the confidence intervals generation and in the testing of statistical hypotheses. Further the method of the discrete probability estimation of the categorical quantity is presented, making use the gradient of the quasi-norm hereof distribution. On concrete examples the bootstrap method is applied in the confidence intervals forming of the categorical quantity probability function. The diploma thesis was supported by the project of MŠMT of the Czech Republic no. 1M06047 "Centre for Quality and Reliability of Production", by the grant of Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (Czech Science Foundation) reg. no. 103/08/1658 "Advanced optimum design of composed concrete structures" and by the research plan of MŠMT of the Czech Republic no. Tématem této diplomové práce je statistická regulace výrobního procesu. Cílem bylo analyzovat data z reálného technologického procesu revolverového vstřikovacího lisu. Analýza byla provedena za užití statistického testování hypotéz, analýzy rozptylu, obecného lineárního modelu a analýzy způsobilosti procesu. Analýza dat byla provedena ve statistickém softwaru Minitab 16.
Measurement of cardiovascular parameters

This bachelor thesis deals with the questions of anatomy and physiology of the heart. The diagnostic system BIOPAC is used in order to measure the electrical activity of the heart by a 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) and to evaluate the heart rate. The ECG signal is transformed into a vectorcardiogram (VCG) from which the direction of the electrical axis of the heart is deducted. Own experiment will be suggested in order to detect a load reaction and cessation of breath on the heart rate and a load reaction on an inclination of the electrical axis of the heart. A programme application will be designed so as to simplify the analysis of values. The application will allow reconstruction of the ECG signal into a VCG scheme and an automatic calculation of the heart rate and the inclination of the electrical axis of the heart. By means of a statistical analysis the results of measurements will be evaluated.

Consequences of assumption violations of selected statistical methods

Classical parametric methods of statistical inference and hypothesis testing are derived under fundamental theoretical assumptions, which may or may not be met in real world applications. However, these methods are usually used despite the violation of their underlying assumptions, while it is argued, that these methods are quite insensitive to the violation of relevant assumptions. Moreover, alternative nonparametric or rank tests are often overlooked, mostly because these methods may be deemed to be less powerful then parametric methods. The aim of the dissertation is therefore a description of the consequences of assumption violations concerning classical one-sample and two-sample statistical methods and a consistent and comprehensive comparison of parametric, nonparametric and robust statistical techniques, which is based on extensive simulation study and focused mostly on a normality and heteroscedasticity assumption violation. The results of the simulation study confirmed that the classical parametric methods are relatively robust, with some reservations in case of outlying observations, when traditional methods may fail. On the other hand, the empirical study clearly proved that the classical parametric methods are losing their optimal properties, when the underlying assumptions are violated. For example, in many cases of non-normality the appropriate nonparametric and rank-based methods are more powerful, and therefore a statement, that these methods are unproductive due to their lack of power may be considered a crucial mistake. However, the choice of the most appropriate distribution-free method generally depends on the particular form of the underlying distribution.
